About the director ...
Marilyn Duran was born in Hudson County, a proud daughter of Cuban immigrants and blessed with 28 years of marriage and three amazing children, all in college. Loving her family and spending quality time together has always been top priority for her.
Since children have always been her passion she pursued a 30 year career as an educator in the West New York School District.
She held positions such as Director of Educational Programs in Central Office, Principal of Harry L Bain Elementary School, Principal of the Early Childhood Abbot Program, and Bilingual/ESL classroom teacher. She has a bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University and a Master’s from Montclair University. Now retired from the public sector and equipped with all of the educational and challenging experiences as well as strategies gained from her journey, she is ready to embark on her life-long dream of opening up a quality, state of the art Early Childhood Center that will foster the critical and necessary combination of education and family warmth.
In the first five years of life a child’s brain develops faster than at any other time in his/her life. The experiences children have in these years help shape the adults they will become.
Therefore, the quality seeds that we will sow early on at “Sowing Seeds School” in unison with the home families will reap boundless future success.
